Big John, Little John

Big John/ Little John was a Saturday morning kid’s show on CBS that ran for one season in 1976. Sherwood Schwartz of Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch was executive producer. The premise was that Herb Edelman accidentally drinks some water from the Fountain of Youth in Florida by accident, and then…at highly inopportune moments, gets younger and younger and younger until for some reason he winds up as blond, straight-haired Robbie Rist (best remembered today as “Oliver” on The Brady Bunch.)  The credit sequence here sets it all up for you.

Writer and performer Trav S.D. (www.travsd.com) is best known for his books "No Applause, Just Throw Money: The Book That Made Vaudeville Famous" (2005) and "Chain of Fools: Silent Comedy and Its Legacies from Nickelodeons to Youtube" (2013). In 2014 he produced and directed the smash-hit "I’ll Say She Is", the first ever revival of the Marx Brothers hit 1924 Broadway show in the NY International Fringe Festival.
