This Saturday: Meet the Top Women of Vaudeville

In a little over a week we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. In observation of that benchmark, I will be devoting my next “Old School” session to the great female stars of vaudeville! Furthermore, thanks to the generosity of one of Travalanche’s top supporters we will no longer have a pesky time limit on our talk. I can drone on for a century — just like vaudeville!

Writer and performer Trav S.D. (www.travsd.com) is best known for his books "No Applause, Just Throw Money: The Book That Made Vaudeville Famous" (2005) and "Chain of Fools: Silent Comedy and Its Legacies from Nickelodeons to Youtube" (2013). In 2014 he produced and directed the smash-hit "I’ll Say She Is", the first ever revival of the Marx Brothers hit 1924 Broadway show in the NY International Fringe Festival.
