Fragments on Arico Wild

Fragments on female impersonator Arico Wild (1894-1966).

We learn of her from the Sobels’ Pictorial History of Vaudeville, which labeled her “sensational”.

In his 1953 book Vaudeville From the Honky Tonks to the Palace, Joe Laurie Jr. says she danced with the Fokine Ballet, and was still performing as of that writing.

Online one can find newspaper references to Wild’s performances all over the country from 1928 through 1948.
