Some friends were asking about this just the other day, so I’m very excited to be able to share the news that Slate critic Dana Steven’s upcoming book Camera Man: Buster Keaton, The Dawn of Cinema, and The Invention of the Twentieth Century has an official pub date of October 26, 2021 and that pre-orders are already being taken. I love the timing — Buster’s birthday month/ Halloween season/ followed by gift giving season. I know I’m not the only one champing at the bit to read this. Stevens has been working on the book for years — it’s sure to mix her critical passion and wit, along with careful and broad research. We’ll chime in when the other shoe drops six months from now and let you know!
