Tomorrow, March 11, at 7:30pm, The Smith Center for the Arts is presenting a virtual discussion of the silent film WITHIN OUR GATES (1920), produced and directed by the pathbreaking black film-maker Oscar Micheaux.
This discussion is co-hosted with Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and presented as part of the Finger Lakes Film Trail’s series Race Films/Race Matters: Starting Conversations about Race in America. It will take place on Zoom and will be moderated by Rebecca Burditt, Assistant Professor of Media & Society at Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and Marilyn Jimenez, Emerita Professor at Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
