Pride lives on! At least it does at Dixon Place, where, as it does every summer, the LGBT celebration known as the Hot! Festival will be blowing a few minds, pandemic or no pandemic. Sadly it won’t be a brick-and-mortar bacchanal — especially sad in a festival so geared for the Body Electric. But they are having it online at their website. And I am proud to say that this year they have been generous enough to include a presentation by moi. Don’t miss Trav S.D.’s History of Drag in Vaudeville this July 30 at 7:30pm (Eastern). The talk and slideshow will naturally draw from the over 100 vaudeville drag artists we have profiled on Travalanche, will talk about their lives and their acts, and will be a guaranteed hoot. Half the proceeds will benefit Dixon Place, the rest will go to the Queer Writers of Color Relief Fund.
