This Weekend: “Me and Lee” Comes to Theater for the New City!

Returning this week for a performance in Theater for the New City’s Dream Up Festival: Me and Lee: The Musical, written by, songs by, and starring Jason Trachtenburg, of Pendulum Swings and the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players.

Me and Lee is adapted from the the book by Judyth Vary Baker , in which she wrote of being a teen science super-star, and her claim of involvement in a secret Government Project to design a cancerous bio-weapon designed to kill Fidel Castro. According to Baker’s account, she met and fell in love with another Government agent involved in the same project. His name: Lee Harvey Oswald.

I play their handler David Ferrie (the guy played by Joe Pesci in the movie JFK).  The cast also includes Emily Frembgen, Miz Stefani, Mike Amoto et al! This is our umpeenth performance of the show, which we’ve already presented at Sidewalk, Dixon Place, and the Brick, but this may be the most appropriate and accessible venue so far. I hope you will come!

It’s all happening this Sunday, September 15 at 5pm at Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave, between 9th and 10th Streets.
