Tonight! A launch event for Jo Weldon’s long awaited book Fierce: The History of Leopard Print! Jo is of course best known as “Jo Boobs” one of the reigning queens, founders and pioneers of the neo-burlesque revival, and might even be better known as the Headmistress of the New York School of Burlesque and author of The Burlesque Handbook. We know her present tome (about the wildest, most untamed, and arguably the kitchiest of all fabric prints) is meticulously, loving researched and has been many years in the making, for we have watched its progress closely, and Jo has shared many of her exciting discoveries along the way. Now it’s finally out (Amazon has it here) and she celebrates its publication with a burlesque show at Housing Works, 126 Crosby Street. Proceeds will go to benefit that worthy charity. Events details are here. Break a leg, guys! We can’t wait to crack open the book!
