Great news for all Anglophiles, lovers of the L.E.S., lovers of variety theatre, theatre history and theatre for kids (that should cover most of you): stage and screen legends Mat Fraser and Julie Atlas Muz are bringing their version of an English Panto to the Abrons Arts Center, and it’s got people like Dirty Martini, Matt Roper, Melody Jane, and Ekaterina Sknarina in the cast. I caught the first act in rehearsal the other day and it’ll knock your Christmas Stockings off! My new article with all the details, including interviews with the principals, is here in The Villager, and we’ll check back in with a review in a few days. The Holidays have officially begun!
That looks like fun! Since 1997 Ross Petty has produced and sometimes starred in Christmas pantos in Toronto. Maybe this will get to be a tradition in New York.
