A Christmas Accident (1912)
Another in our series of Christmas themed posts.
This short by the Edison Company, released in December, 1912 and directed by Harold M. Shaw, is a contemporary riff on A Christmas Carol, with a few changes: it’s the U.S., the old grump character is married, and the equivalent of the Cratchett family are his next door neighbors. Oh, and there are no ghosts. But it is a glory to watch if only for the period details. It is just a gorgeous and charming thing to look at.
