Today (the Duchess reminds me) is the death day of Edgar Allan Poe, a fitting time to let you know that on Saturday the Edgar Allen Poe House in Baltimore (pictured above) re-opened for visitors after a year of renovations. An excellent thing to do during the Halloween season! For info go here: http://www.poeinbaltimore.org/
And, New Yorkers, if you can’t make it down to Bal’mer, we have our own local Poe shrine, the Edgar Allan Poe cottage, up in the Bronx:
But wait! There’s also one in Philadelphia!
And Richmond! http://www.poemuseum.org/index.php
And there are also several sites associated with him in Providence!
Wait a minute…are we sure this Poe guy was real? he’s starting to sound a bit like Santa Claus — apparently the guy was everywhere!
