Duane Eddy Does “Raunchy”

Today is the birthday of Duane Eddy (b.1938), whom along with producer Lee Hazelwood, was progenitor of the “twangy” sound, heard on such hits as “Rebel Rouser” and “the Peter Gunn Theme”.

Here’s his 1963 take on Bill Justis’s “Raunchy”, also well known for being George Harrison’s audition piece for getting into The Beatles.
