Forgotten Shows of My Nonage #32: The Perils of Penelope Pitstop

This comes to mind because of the Pearl White post from earlier today. The Perils of Penelope Pitstop was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon that ran from 1970 through 1971. I not only used to watch it but I had the coloring book! The show was spun off from the 1969 cartoon The Wacky Races. Dastardly and Muttley (who were voiced by Paul Winchell) were other characters from that series, which seems largely inspired by the 1965 film The Great RaceWhile there is an obvious connection with Natalie Wood’s character in that film, the ultimate derivation is clearly Pearl White’s serials like The Perils of Pauline.
