Since my good buddies Carla Rhodes and Cecil have been spending an unnatural amount of time with Chuck McCann, like this:
Anyway, because of that, I find my self recalling Far-Out Space Nuts!
Far-Out Space Nuts was a Sid and Marty Krofft Saturday morning kid’s show that ran for one season (16 episodes) in 1975. It starred Chuck McCann and Bob Denver as two NASA janitors who accidentally hit the “launch” button on the rocket they’re cleaning, thinking it was the “lunch” button! Well, you know what happens next. In the unlikely event you don’t, watch this!:
I loved “Far Out Space Nuts”. I must have sensed back then that Patty Maloney, who played Honk, would become famous. And she did: She made three guest appearances on “Donny & Marie” and was the voice of Darla Hood in Hanna-Barbera’s animated series of “The Little Rascals” in the early 1980s. Patty turned 80 this past March—impressive for a female dwarf!
