Here’s something we didn’t catch on Monday’s outing to Coney Island. The Coney Island History Project has a new, improved exhibition center now in the shadow of Deno’s Wonder Wheel. The collections on view include artifacts, photographs, maps, ephemera and films of Coney Island’s colorful past. They also have an exhibition commemorating the Dreamland Fire Centennial, a horse from the original Steeplechase ride, and something called a “Mangel’s Fairy Whip Car”. Sounds kinky!
Best of all the exhibition is free. For more info go here.
