I can’t plug this one enough — and sight unseen, no less. Penned by Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein IV, the family historian (among many other attainments), the book is a chronicle one of the most influential and important show biz families of the last century. For obvious reasons, I am far more interested in his impresario forbears Oscar I and Willie than the lyricist Oscar II, but he’s plenty interesting himself. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. It goes on sale today.
