Swan Wood: Ballerina in Vaudeville

I can find but a handful of references of ballerina Swan Wood. In 1909 she performed a solo dance at the Orpheum in Los Angeles; she was featured in The Passing Show of 1913; and in 1915 she and a company of 8 under her direction toured the big time Keith-Orpheum circuit, including the Palace. She also performed in the short-lived 1919 Broadway show The Rose of China.

And don’t miss Chain of Fools: Silent Comedy and Its Legacies from Nickelodeons to Youtube, to be released by Bear Manor Media in 2013.
