Paul McCartney’s “Thingumybob”

Today is Sir Paul’s birthday (for my longer article on him go here). The clip below is the sort of thing that reminds me of the amazing times we’re living in. When I was a teenage Beatle fanatic I used to read about this record, but pretty much despaired of ever hearing it. Now, you just Google it and there it is. McCartney wrote this old-timey pieceĀ  and recorded it with the Black Dyke Mills Band on the Apple label in 1968. I wish he’d done a lot more stuff like this…
